Obeetee opens flagship store in Ahmedabad

Luxury home textiles, carpets, and furniture brand Obeetee has launched a flagship store in Ahmedabad to retail its full selection of premium products. The boutique is located in the city’s Bodakdev neighbourhood and is designed to enable the brand to connect with shoppers across Gujarat. 

“Ahmedabad holds a significant place in India’s design and textile landscape, and opening a store here is a strategic move to deepen our presence in a city that values craftsmanship and heritage,” said Obeetee Carpets’ president Angelique Dhama in a press release. “This space allows us to bring our legacy of handcrafted rugs closer to a discerning audience that appreciates both tradition and innovation. It’s not just a retail destination- it’s a curated environment where design storytelling and customer experience converge.”

This is the first Obeetee outlet to offer the brand’s complete furniture line, including bespoke sofas, statement tables, and upholstered pieces. These collections are displayed alongside its signature carpets, which span Persian, Indo-Turkish, and modern styles.

The store’s design pays homage to Ahmedabad’s artisanal traditions with textured surfaces, organic materials, and a warm colour palette. The space is intended to offer an immersive retail experience rooted in design storytelling and craftsmanship.

Founded in 1920, Obeetee is one of India’s oldest rug makers and employs over 25,000 artisans. The company operates one of the country’s largest in-house rug-making facilities and has implemented several social and environmental initiatives over the years, it announced.
