International beauty label Max Factor has entered the Kolkata market through a retail partnership with Shoppers Stop, as the brand continues to expand its retail network across India. The launch brings Max Factor’s century-long history in makeup artistry to consumers in the city, aiming to offer a professional-grade product range to suit Indian skin tones and local beauty preferences.

“At Max Factor, we’ve always believed that makeup is not just a tool for transforming how you look, but also how you feel,” said House of Beauty’s head of marketing, international brands Medhavi Nain in a press release. “Our exclusive presence at Shoppers Stop in Kolkata reflects our commitment to making professional-quality beauty accessible to everyday Indian consumers.”
Known for its Hollywood heritage and association with iconic film stars, Max Factor now offers Kolkata’s shoppers a curated selection of its foundations, primers, lipsticks, mascaras, and other cosmetics. The brand has also partnered with Bollywood celebrity Priyanka Chopra Jonas for its promotional campaigns to connect with Indian shoppers.
Founded in the early 20th century by Polish-born cosmetician Max Factor, the label gained prominence during Hollywood’s Golden Age, working with actresses such as Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardner. Today, Max Factor retails its cosmetics globally and its Kolkata launch underscores its strategy to grow its footprint across major Indian cities.
