EPAM plans to ramp up India hiring by adding over 2,000 employees

US-based EPAM, a digital engineering firm, intends to expand its Indian workforce by recruiting over 2,000 professionals in the upcoming fiscal year, shared Larry Solomon, Chief People Officer and SVP. With its current India headcount exceeding 11,000 employees, India accounts for 18 per cent of EPAM’s global workforce.

“India continues to be a strategic location for EPAM’s global operations and is the largest delivery location. We grew more than 30 per cent last year and hope to maintain the same level of growth in the coming years. We must uphold the strength and quality of our delivery and engineering capabilities, for which we are making significant investments in the entire talent acquisition lifecycle, from onboarding new talent to relocating professionals,” Solomon explained.

Among those being hired are across a spectrum of fresh graduates to senior technical roles. Alongside, he shared that EPAM has earmarked resources to establish at least two new centres, further expanding its presence in India alongside 10 years of its operations in the country. “This will enhance our ability to attract and retain top-tier talent nationwide, reinforcing our commitment to growth and excellence.”

“For us, headcount is a direct reflection of real growth in India. Having reached over 10,000 employees in just a decade underscores our commitment to expansion in the country,” explained Arkadiy Dobkin, CEO and President.

Key role

He added that India plays a central role in its global expansion and is experiencing remarkable growth.

“India has become a significant part of our operations, and over the past two years, its role has become even more critical,” the CEO remarked. “We collaborate with 50 GCCs across the country, and most of it involves mission-critical work. Our efforts help accelerate their growth and provide a strong foundation in GenAI.”

India continues to be a strategic location from where EPAM supports more than 150 global clients. The company’s India talent supports clients across regions such as North America, Europe, the Middle East and APAC.

EPAM entered the Indian market in 2015 through the acquisition of Alliance Global Services. Initially, it accounted for 6 per cent of the company’s workforce, but by the 2022-end, this figure had grown to 11 per cent, driven by integration efforts, joint programs, projects, and new client engagements.
